Welcome to my WWW.NOTGELD.COM website. Please logon using the 'GNCC logon' tab above.

All the information from my old notgeld (emergency money) site has been copied here, but the
layout, design and content has been updated, to include even more notgeld information!Papenburg 75pf (Lm.1016)

The picture to the right shows the Burgermeister collecting his taxes...but the poor citizen doesn't even have enough money to feed himself! Issued in Papenburg, Germany, in 1921, it is catalogued as Lm.1016 (or Mehl.1044). A 50pf (pfennig) note was also issued with a
similar design. (But.......75pf is not a value required in commerce....usually made up from
50+20+5.........this piece of notgeld is of course.....serienscheine.....and was not intended
for general circulation.....it was issued for the notgeld collector market of the early 1920's!!)
You can join the GNCC for a very small one-off LIFETIME fee, by selecting the 'GNCC logon'
tab above.
Happy notgeld collecting from me....Tony the 'notgeldman*from*england' (www*notgeld*com)

Happy New Year for 2012, especially to my 180 GNCC members!! The GNCC goes from strength to strength. Please join us!!
** Gronau (Lm.461 - Gr/Mehl.475) - half price! - see notgeld shop! **

Please contact me if you have any of the Bielefeld 100m linen or silk pieces with coloured edges and borders. I will pay 50-75 euros (depending on border type) for any piece I don't already have, so I can add it to the reference I am writing. There must be loads out there. These pieces have never been properly catalogued before, but I am trying to change that! Please join my German Notgeld Collector's Club (GNCC). Register by selecting the very top 'dropdown' tab. Well worth joining if you are passionate about learning more about German notgeld!! Selling your notgeld collection? If so, please contact me as I can usually better any valuations already given to you! I am a specialised collector and not a banknote dealer. I am always looking for collections to purchase so that my own collection can grow and improve. Many pieces have many different variants, so I am always on the look out for these so I can add them to my collection if not already there. You may be best approaching a dealer first to get a base figure and then see if I want to pay more!! You can't lose out that way either. Most people will automatically believe they have some scarce pieces in their collection, but inevitably, in almost all cases, they will be incorrect. These scarce/rare pieces are just that.....very rarely seen! Please understand that literally thousands upon thousands of these 'normal' notgeld types were issued. If I purchase a collection and find scarcer pieces that we did not take into consideration, when agreeing on a price, then I will be happy to send a further payment to cover that.

I have been collecting for almost 40 years now and there could be nothing better than to find some scarcer pieces I have been searching for and for me to pay a fair price for that privilege! I have a 100% positive feedback record (over 1300 positive comments over several years) with eBay (My userid is www*notgeld*com if you wish to check)

My first ever notgeld reference 'The 1921 Bielefeld100m stoffgeld pieces' is now available....with 154 different notes depicted - latest update, on title page is now February 2011!! (Started in JUNE2009 and being updated as required. Once purchased, you will get the latest downloadable '.pdf' file and any subsequent updates for FREE!) This is a fantastic reference for these beautiful and colourful pieces.

My second notgeld reference 'German Gems (Volume 1 : A-L)'  is now available!! (Created in JUNE 2009)

My last notgeld reference 'German Gems (Volume 2 : M-Z)' is now available!! (Created in JANUARY 2010)

This is the only website in the world where you can purchase these 3 excellent notgeld references!! See a few feedback notes from a couple of my free GNCC draw winners (under 'GNCC' tab above).

  • Following refers to German Gems references:
  • This is not a catalogue, rather a notgeld reference, but it does contain prices of depicted pieces. See the combined output of the 2 'GERMAN GEMS' seperate parts as the :

    'Encyclopedia of German notgeld'

  • Lots of extra and very interesting information about towns, history and notes is included
  • Each file contains over 100 pages (A4 size)!!
  • The information contained within each 'GERMAN GEMS' reference, makes it 'timeless'. They will always be a very, very useful source of info. for the collector, now or in 10 years time. They don't and won't need any updates.
  • Information contained within, relates to all notgeld categories, but is strongly biased towards serienscheine
  • Click on the 'read more' icon below, to see 2 actual page layouts.
  • Last but not least...........each reference contains lots of professional German-English translations of the original German verses!!
  • Each 100 page reference is priced at £20.00 sterling or equivalent
  • click here for day-to-day currency conversions
