Papenburg 75pf (Lm.1016)

All the information from my old notgeld (emergency money) site has been copied here, but the layout, design and content has been updated, to include even more notgeld information.

The picture to the right shows the Burgermeister collecting his taxes...but the poor citizen doesn't even have enough money to feed himself! Issued in Papenburg, Germany, in 1921, it is catalogued as Lm.1016 (or Mehl.1044). A 50pf (pfennig) note was also issued with a similar design. (But.......75pf is not a value required in commerce....usually made up from 50+20+5.........this piece of notgeld is of course.....serienscheine.....and was not intended for general circulation!!)

You can join the GNCC for a very small one-off lifetime fee, by selecting the 'GNCC logon' tab above. Happy notgeld collecting from me....Tony the 'notgeldman*from*england' (www*notgeld*com)

Selling your notgeld collection? If so, please contact me as you may get a better price. Quite often people will want to 'cherry-pick' your collection and then leave you with pieces that will be difficult for you to trade or sell!! I am always looking for collections to purchase so that my own collection can grow and improve. Many pieces have many different variants, so I am always on the look out for these so I can add them to my collection if not already there. All duplicate pieces are then sold on to other notgeld collector colleagues of mine, so rest assured your notes will be well looked after, I am certain of that. Everybody who contacts me with a collection to sell, will be offered a fair price and usually higher than an offer made by a banknote dealer.......as I am a true avid notgeld collector and not a banknote dealer. You may be best approaching a dealer first to get a base figure and then see if I want to pay more!! You can't lose out that way either. Most people will automatically believe they have some scarce pieces in their collection, but inevitably, in almost all cases, they will be incorrect. These scarce/rare pieces are actually extremely hard to come by. Please understand that literally thousands upon thousands of these notgeld were issued. If I purchase a collection and find scarcer pieces that we did not take into consideration, when agreeing on a price, then I will be more than happy to send a further payment to cover the extra value found.

I have been collecting for over 35 years and there could be nothing better than to find some scarcer pieces and for me to pay for that privilege! I have a 100% positive feedback record with eBay (My userid is www*notgeld*com if you wish to check)
